Notes: Sadie Belle, domestic abuse survivor, is seeking a new home. Sadie came to our rescue about 6 months ago on an emergency intake when the home she lived in was no longer safe for her or her owner. There was a threat to shoot Sadie so a neighbor got her and transported to us. Sadie is now ready to seek a new home. Please read the negatives as we want the right fit and will not rush to place her.

Positives: Sadie is between 8 and 10 years of age, spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. She gets along with dogs both large and small. Not sure about cats. Sadie does not "bark" when people knock on the door. We have never heard her bark in 6 months. A strong whine when she needs to go out is the most noise she has made. She loves to sleep under covers with her person if allowed. Otherwise she likes a crate with blankets.

Negatives:
1. NO SMALL children. While Sadie loves people she is reactive if held too tight and may bite. This may put a small child not understanding her past at risk.

2. She MUST be leash walked for potty breaks - she will chase anything that runs (cats, squirrels, birds, etc). Currently Sadie is on a schedule of going out 4 times a day. She will complete her 'business' in under 10 minutes and hurry back inside. Sadie is not a fan of the outdoors. She will use a wee-pad if taught where it is.

3. Sadie is afraid of feet, brooms, newspapers, and loud noises (raised voices).

If interested in Sadie please fill out an Adoption Aapplication form. Keep in mind we will be very careful with her placement.

ONE BY ONE

One by one, they pass by my cage
Too old, too worn, too broken, they say
Way past his time, he can’t run and play
They shake their heads and go on their way
A little old man, arthritic and sore
It seems that I am wanted no more
I once had a home, I once had a bed
A place that was warm, and where I was fed
Now my muzzle is grey, and my eyes slowly fail
Who wants a dog so old and so frail?
My family decided I didn’t belong
I got in their way, my attitude wrong
Now I sit in this kennel, where day after day
The younger ones are chosen and taken away
When I had come to the end of my rope
You saw my face and again I knew hope
You saw past the grey, the legs wobbly with age
And felt I deserved life beyond this cage
You took me home, gave me food and a bed
You gently stroked my poor tired head
We snuggle and play, you talk to me low
You love me so dearly, and make sure I know
Although I have lived most of my life with another
You outshine them with a love so much stronger
I promise to return all the love I can give
To you my dear friend, as long as I live
I may be with you for a week, or for years
We will share many smiles, and a few tears
When the time comes, that God deems I must leave
I know you will cry and your heart it will grieve
When I arrive at the Bridge all brand new
My thoughts and my heart will still be with you
And I will brag to all who will hear
Of the person who made my last days so dear.

Adoption Application Form
Before you can adopt one of the dogs you need to complete our Adoption Application Form. Applications must be submitted and vetting/personal references must be checked before an adoption is completed. You will not be able to adopt a puppy or dog if you do not have a verified application.
